What kinds of portrait photography do you do, and is there a favorite?

• When we first started, we did just about whatever people would ask for - couples, families, seniors, newborns, you name it. It didn't take long for us to figure out what we liked and where our strengths were, but then something awesome happened...those people kept calling. The seniors started getting married, the newlyweds started having babies, and the babies were growing up. And we quickly learned two things; one, it doesn't matter what type of shoot we're asked to do - if we can make our clients feel comfortable it's always going to be reflected in great images. And two, maintaining those relationships meant so much more than picking a direction or specialty.

What do we wear?

• We can absolutely work with anything you decide to put everyone in, but here's what we love to see - coordinating clothing, but not matching clothing. Some pattern is fine, especially in a bigger group, but try to avoid the completely crazy stuff or anything with writing all over it (we want the focus to be on faces!). And PLEASE - be comfy and yourselves!

Who picks the location for our portraits?

• We work together on this one. If you have a place in mind, we're always open to use your ideas; in fact, we LOVE new locations. Otherwise, it really depends on your preferences and what you intend to use the images for. Think about how and where you want these displayed in your home; this could help you in deciding the general look of your images as well. If you still don't have any ideas, we'll talk to you about what you're after, offer a couple suggestions and decide on a location together.

How much do you charge?

• Our fees are $200/hr, which includes the session, editing, and web album with download of low resolution images. If you'd like us to travel outside a 25-mile radius of the Joplin area (and yes, we love a good road trip), we can discuss additional travel expenses in more detail with you. 

What is your style?

• We strive to give you "clean" images; we work to get the shot right in camera and we don't get too caught up in the latest editing trends. We want you to look at your images 20 years from now and say, "I still love this picture." Will we do some current editing? Absolutely, but the bulk of your images will be clean, in full color, and straight!

Why should we hire you?

• If you've peeked at the About page, you learned one key thing about us. We ourselves have a big, crazy family. We've had a ton of fun, but we've also dealt with fights, tantrums, tears and blood for years. It's pretty tough to throw us off. So when we tell clients there is no need to be stressed over their shoot, we mean it. Babies will need to be fed and kids will get worn out and cranky, and it's all OK!
